Gyre falcon flight armor turnarounds

Concept art of Cedany, citizen of a feudal society whose primary population centers are suspended from a network of orbiting satellites. She is part of a women-only unit, the Gyres, who use flight armor irreproducible by current means to ward off more primitive airship incursions from the barely livable surface.

The armor is integrated to the user cybernetically through robotic left arms (their natural arm is given up willingly), and passed from bearer to bearer for centuries. Cedany's personal flight armor is classified as the falcon. The "wings" are six variable-angle thruster assemblies, pushing air downward when in an open state and outward parallel to the length of the wing when closed, and controlled through highly practiced mental effort.

Made around 2013.

I modeled the character and created a short movement test to show how the six "wing" thrusters and the helmet enclosure would move. The rest of it was modeled to be movable (including unfoldable feet claws), but I handed the model off to a rigger friend.
